If able-bodied individuals have a tough time navigating the bathroom, or really any space in your house, it may be time for a redesign.
Including universal designs in your bathroom can show a buyer that this house is already able to accommodate them when they grow older, slow down, and lose some of that peak mobility they’re enjoying right now. It also broadens your pool of potential buyers. Those homebuyers who are differently-abled don’t have to skip your house because of accessibility problems, which does wonders for your home value as well.
Check the Details
Before you commit to tearing out the entire bathroom and replacing everything down to the studs, check the function of the bathroom. If everything is still in good working order, you don’t need to replace everything. Often, it just takes a small refresh to completely revamp a space for resale.
